A New Orleans destination wedding with Ava and Madison—complete with a second line band and late-night beignets; absolutely! When we first chatted, it was a whirlwind (literally whirling wind) on a Starbucks patio on my way to a shoot, despite the bit of chaos we hit it off instantly, I thought surely I'd hear from them in the coming days. Those days turned into weeks and months and then, out of nowhere, I got an email explaining that they'd scrapped the entire plan and instead, would I meet them in New Orleans to photograph their wedding day!. Yes, yes, yes. Not only is it a city that I already love but one that both Hazel and Dorian (my teens) agreed on as a city they'd both like to visit. I have a city kid and a country kid, hard to do. Travel plans began!
Ava and Madison made the day incredible for all of us; guests and vendors alike. The ceremony was gorgeous, stunning florals and and surrounded by their friends and family in the historic Garden District, and then came the second line, parading down St. Charles Street, police escort and all. This was followed by the biggest champagne tower I've seen followed by an epic jazz band and dance party! Just when it couldn't get better they brought out magical late night beignets. I mean... brilliant.
Cheers to Ava and Madison—may your love story continue to unfold with laughter, parades, and endless champagne! Thank you so much for including me in your NOLA adventure!
