I recently had the pleasure of working with Marine Layer on a shoot to enhance their online library. A core pillar of Marine Layer is community, and they embraced every opportunity to include other local brands. This shared value made the shoot even more enjoyable, knowing we were supporting incredible people and their passions while advancing our own.
Marine Layer's distinctive name pays homage to the thick blanket of fog that pours in from the Pacific along the Sonoma Coast. Known for cooler temperatures and extreme conditions, this region presents unique challenges for growing grapes. However, the longer hang-time for the grapes results in nuanced flavors, bright acidity, and balance, making the effort truly rewarding. This commitment to the local environment and its unique characteristics is mirrored in their dedication to fostering community connections.
Three cheers to local economies and the importance of supporting them! In this shoot, we featured Campo Fina, Dragonfly Floral, Canteen Meats, as well as my clients Jen Start Ceramics and Treko Wool. Each of these brands brings something unique to our vibrant local community, and it was a joy to bring them together in this project.
Photographing for Marine Layer was a fantastic experience, blending our mutual passion for high-quality craftsmanship and community support. It's inspiring to work with a brand that values local connections and strives to create something exceptional. Here's to many more collaborations and the continued support of our local economies!
