Megan and Zach's wedding at Yokayo Ranch in Ukiah was an absolute dream. Yokayo Ranch is hands down one of my favorite venues ever, and Megan and Zach are incredible humans. Do images speak? If so, I hope you can see all of their generosity, kindness, care for one another and their tenderness for their loved ones. It was so beautiful to witness, their gentle hearts are really something special in this world. They not only showed up in interactions with me but with all of the people that surround them. And those folks reflected back those same stunning hearts. My inquiry form includes the question "are trying to be an example of kindness in the world?", One-hundred percent those answers matter to me and the above is why.
The property includes two big houses, multiple pool cabins, a group of canvas yurts scattered under giant shady Live Oaks, the mid-century vibing pool and lots of color. If you're in there in the right season it's just aglow with colors too many to count. Megan and Zach's wedding happened to be in such a season! From the guests' bold attire to the gorgeous spring instillations, everything was bursting with life and energy. And of course, Megan's stunning Cortana wedding gown—I'd seen that dress online but not in person, love the asymmetry! She looked stunning, well they both did, particularly in the heart of Yokayo's gorgeous ceremony circle.
When evening made its appearance Megan, Zach, and I snuck away for a few photos. That sun-dipped light has to be the best light ever. It throws this warm glow over everything and aches for softness under it. I'm sure you're well aware of the magic in a sunset... I've never been failed by a sunset, ever :) Between the vineyard on one side of us and the lake on the other, we had a canal of beauty to photograph portraits of them. We are so lucky.
Meghan and Zach, I appreciate you deeply. I appreciate your kindness in the world, your groundedness and your love for one another. May you bask in the light of all of the sunsets and spend your time loving your closest.
